What Are the Expected Outcomes?

The expected outcome is to introduce a new national narrative.  The MCRC narrative is that, since 1607, Americans have been divided into unequally valued racial categories such as Black and White without regard for family ties. In other words, racial categories were forged out of dynamics of separation, loss and abandonment. Dividing the US population into distinct and unequal racial categories involved severing the most intimate of human bonds— parent- child bonds, bonds between grandparents and grandchildren, bonds with siblings and other relatives.  The MCRC Project maintains that the US has yet to acknowledge the unresolved family trauma upon which categories were formed.
